It’s hard to believe that we’re already halfway through the year already!

This month, we’re focusing on getting birds into homes, as we are incredibly, incredibly full. Most species we’re having to waitlist or refer out when we receive surrender applications, even for emergencies. Unfortunately, everyone else is full too, so there’s really no where to refer them to. As such, we have a giant waitlist of birds waiting to get in right now.

Vet Clinic with Dr. Scott McDonald will be happening at the end of this month, and if you’d like a spot, you’ll need to subscribe to our mailing list (at the bottom of this page) to get the scheduling link. We only get two days this summer with him because of his schedule, and the rescue birds will take at least a full day of that, so slots will fill extremely fast. We will send those out around the 17th of July for you all to schedule.

For the first time, we are going to purchase advertising for the rescue to see if we can move the needle for finding homes for birds. I see so many people completely fed up and frustrated with the scammers and such they find when looking for a bird - so our objective is to show them that there’s a safe way to find and be matched up with a bird that isn’t difficult or hard to go through the process. We keep seeing how “hard” it is to go through rescue processes, and it just really isn’t here. We are particular on the proper husbandry and medical care and nutrition, but the process isn’t difficult. So we’ll be running a series of ads with the intention of reaching some of the people who want to adopt but are afraid to apply.
